We found out what we are having....

and...

Glitterfy.com - Glitter Graphics

We found out last week. Layla came down with a rash, so Mike took her to the Dr. and found out that she had Fifth Disease. Which really isnt bad for her, but it can be not-so-great for me. So I called my Dr and they wanted me to come in for blood work and an ultrasound. So I also found out that I am 20 weeks along, now due March 10th instead of March 30th. And we also found out that it's a girl! At least that narrows down the names we need to think of!

Actually, we were talking about names the other day. I was thinking of Marie for a middle name. My mother's middle name was Marie and my grandmother's first name was Marie. For Mike's side of the family though, it's a little tough. His grandmother's first name is Loretta and his great-grandmother's name is Lula. Lula isn't too bad, except it's too close to Layla. His sister suggested Morgan, which is his mother's maiden name. We kind of like that, we just know that if we choose that, she will never let us forget that she came up with it! LOL. Nothing is final yet though.

Have a great week!

I am participating in Artsy Mama's Autumn Gathering. Head on over to her blog for a list of other participants!
I apologize in advance that my pictures aren't that great. I took them last night and the lighting isnt the greatest in here!

Let's start in the living room...

A lot of this is in the entertainment center, as you can kind of tell.

This picture is pretty cruddy, I'm sorry! The card came from my Sweet & Sinister Swap buddy, Emily.

On top now, my Halloween trees, some pumpkins I glittered, and the wall hanging from Emily.

We found this big bat last year.

I also made a set of these 'Spooky' blocks for myself. I used an orange bird for mine.

Here is the chicken wire frame I made during the Sweet & Sinister Swap.

And my garland...

Not too much on the coffee table. The kids like to use it as a couch, so there really isnt ever anything on it. But we made these little clay acorns this year, and I found the ghost and vampire for $.99 at Michael's this year (on clearance).

I'm really liking this display. My birdhouse from the thrift store, a Dollar Tree crow, an Edgar Allan Poe book, candy corn and a ceramic crow! Oh, and a creamy pumpkin from Walgreen's.

Here's a close-up of the little guy. I really like him! When I went back to get more, they were all gone.

This is my shelf above the couch. Now I know that 'Halloween' is missing an 'E'. Pumpkin likes to to jump up there and knock it down. I got tired of it and used a tack to secure the ribbon. Then I noticed the letter was missing and I couldnt get the tack out! LOL!

In the hallway, I have the little desk that I got from the thrift, along with the cauldron I made last year and a few other things. Ready for some witchy studies?

The kitchen table is pretty simple... These little pumpkins were $1 each at Walmart.

This is hanging above the doorway.

We use this talking candy bowl for fruit.

And finally, outside.

So the bathtub is looking a little pathetic...

I hope you enjoyed my tour!

#3

That's right, we are expecting #3! This came totally as a surprise, but it's a good one :) My due date is March 30th and I will have an ultrasound on November 6th. I'm not really hoping one way or another as far as the sex, since I already got what I wanted (a boy, then a girl). I also don't have ANY name ideas! When choosing Blake's name, I wrote down a list of names I like and we decided together. Layla got her name because of Mike, he had always liked that name. How did you decide on your childrens' names?

Pictures from today & a giveaway

We decided today would be a good day to get pumpkins. Unfortunatly, there aren't any real pumpkin patches around here, but the church on Lake Morton always has a good selection. It just happens to be the same place that Kim from Daisy Cottage gets her pumpkins.

Layla wanted to touch every single one of them.

Blake had a tough time deciding too.

And of course, we had to get a couple small ones to be painted.

We found em!

While it doesnt really feel like fall here, it is somewhat cooler than summer. So when we got home, I figured I would take the kids for a walk.

Why open the gate when you can climb over it?

Our bone dry pond.

We don't have any woods on our property (I think that's the only downfall. I grew up surounded by woods and wish we had some to go walking in.), but as you can see, it's a jungle out there!

We found this cool hole in a cypress tree.

Several more cypress trees. Our pond was man-made, but obviously there was wetlands here are some point for these trees & knees to be here.

Not sure I would want to venture in there!

Photos of mushrooms have been popping up on blogs everywhere. I haven't really seen any unusual looking ones, but we did see a couple today.

The kids coudln't wait to kick them over.

Back to the house now... This big, orange beast isn't ours, but we borrow it quite a bit. One day we will have one of our own! It defiantly draws attention from people passing by. We have had several people stop and inquire about using it. One needed it to bury a dead cow, and then just last week, I came home from work to find a strange truck parked in the field and a man walking around by the front door. It was moved around back the same day!

Enough firewood to last a while. Too bad we don't have a fireplace!

And the tangerine's are already starting to ripen. They were very sweet & delicious last year.

And finally, the giveaway! I missed my 1 year anniversary, and I missed my 50th post. I am not far from 100, but I thought it would be fun to go ahead and do one for Halloween. What's the prize? Three of these sparkly pumpkins!

Just leave a comment on this post, and I will have one of my little helpers draw a name. I will keep this open until Wednesday, October 15th. Good luck!

Sweet & Sinister Swap SENT!

Since I posted what I received from the swap, I thought I would share what I sent, now that I know I'm not spoiling any surprises! Here is what is inside of those bubble-wrapped packages.

I got the idea for these book pumpkins from a Halloween magazine from last year. They were so easy and I think they are really cute! I've got to finish up some for myself. The only thing I wish is that paperbacks werent all basically the same size! I wonder if you could cut one with a saw?

This was my thrifted item. It was hunter green, we spray painted it black and I filled it with these little apples. The bottom slides off so you could put anything in there.

And my home decor item was these blocks. The idea came from the Ballard catalog. I added one of those little glitter bird picks from Michaels. I think it turned out pretty good.

More info on the giveaway coming soon!
