We decided today would be a good day to get pumpkins. Unfortunatly, there aren't any real pumpkin patches around here, but the church on Lake Morton always has a good selection. It just happens to be the same place that Kim from Daisy Cottage gets her pumpkins.
Layla wanted to touch every single one of them.
Blake had a tough time deciding too.
And of course, we had to get a couple small ones to be painted.
We found em!
While it doesnt really feel like fall here, it is somewhat cooler than summer. So when we got home, I figured I would take the kids for a walk.
Why open the gate when you can climb over it?
Our bone dry pond.
We don't have any woods on our property (I think that's the only downfall. I grew up surounded by woods and wish we had some to go walking in.), but as you can see, it's a jungle out there!
We found this cool hole in a cypress tree.
Several more cypress trees. Our pond was man-made, but obviously there was wetlands here are some point for these trees & knees to be here.
Not sure I would want to venture in there!
Photos of mushrooms have been popping up on blogs everywhere. I haven't really seen any unusual looking ones, but we did see a couple today.
The kids coudln't wait to kick them over.
Back to the house now... This big, orange beast isn't ours, but we borrow it quite a bit. One day we will have one of our own! It defiantly draws attention from people passing by. We have had several people stop and inquire about using it. One needed it to bury a dead cow, and then just last week, I came home from work to find a strange truck parked in the field and a man walking around by the front door. It was moved around back the same day!
Enough firewood to last a while. Too bad we don't have a fireplace!
And the tangerine's are already starting to ripen. They were very sweet & delicious last year.
I love those sparkly pumpkins! would love to win them! Your blog is nice, I found it from the sweet and sinister blog...
