Welcome to the Free Paint Party!! I can't wait to see what everyone else has created!
I was lucky, and my SIL and MIL didnt want any paint, so they ordered some colors for me. NOW I could kick myself for not getting black and maybe a creamy white when Glidden had their giveaway. But I guess I got overwhelmed with color choices. So I ended up with a blue, a purple and a green. I decided to use the blue & purple to make chore charts for the kids. (All paints are from Glidden).
And this one is Robin's Egg.
I ended up having to rig these up because I cannot figure out Excel! But the tape really isnt that noticeable in person. I just found a generic chore chart printable online and printed up what I wanted their chores to be. I typed them up and taped them on. The blue blocks are for when they dont have to do it that day. I've been using a Vis-A-Vis marker to check off what they've done, or add any other chores. Dry erase would work, too.
I was really hoping to have our coffee table ready for this party, but we are having issues with the top. We didnt get the paint we usually use (Valspar) and the paint seems to be old, it just wasnt working well. So the top still needs to be finished. But the bottom is done! This color is Sea Glass Green.
Now it's your turn! I would LOVE to see what you've done with your free Glidden paint, but any paint is fine as well. PLEASE, only post your permalink, not just the link to your blog! Also, don't forget to link back to this post! I never got around to making a button, but please feel free to save the image at the top of this post and upload it to your blog. If you would like to do this again, please let me know! I am thinking about hosting another one a little later on. Oh, and please spread the word and pass this on!! Thank you everyone!
Im adding my party to Kimba's DIY Day!
I did the same thing, I got bright colors and then wondered why in the world I did not get black and white what I paint just about everything! I love your colors, Not I to ordered one in Robins Egg Blue, but I hated it, it looks nothing like your color, it's more baby blue. I LOVE yours! Your other colors are so pretty too, I can't wait to see the coffee table, I had an end table that did the same thing on the top, the other one painted just fine but then when I painted the second it was a tacky mess, I am thinking mine was because it was the bottom of the can by then. Love your projects! I will get something linked up tonight!
ReplyDeleteI haven't done my project yet! Is that ridiculous? I am going to paint a dark green wall in my living room a lighter green to lighten it up. Thanks for reminding me about this project!!!
ReplyDeleteSooo pretty!!
ReplyDeleteLike your chore charts - great idea.
ReplyDeletePretty colors and I love the table!
ReplyDeleteGreat colors! I did get some free paint from the giveaway too but I still haven't even opened it! I ordered a soft blue that I may use when I get going on our dining room renovations.
ReplyDeleteI absolutely love the table!! what a pretty color. Great idea for the chore charts too!
ReplyDelete*hugs*deb
thanks for the visit too!
Hi Wendy! I love your chore charts...great idea! And your table is gorgeous...looks great to me! I missed out on the free paint! :-( I can't work Excel, either! lol Happy week!...Debbie
ReplyDeleteI'm another one who hasn't opened her free can of paint yet, guess I'm still savoring the possibilities! I got the Robin's Egg Blue too, and have no idea what to use it for. But something will occur.
ReplyDeleteIf it were me, I think I'd use a table in Word for your chore charts. You could make a basic template of the week and then update it each week. Probably easier than Excel!
Wendy, that's a clever idea with the chore charts! And I love that beautiful green on the base of the coffee table. I have never used Valspar paint, but it seems like everyone likes it. I'll have to try it.
ReplyDeleteI got a very strange grey'ish blue and Im not sure if I like it or not. Im sure I will find something to put it on sooner or later. Till then enjoy your party!
ReplyDeleteSo fun and SO creative!!
ReplyDeletexo,
Kim
Hi Wendy! Can you believe I never got in on the free paint? I love the blue you got though~the chore charts are a great idea too :)
ReplyDeleteI know, I kicked myself for the colors I chose. I did get a creamy white, but really wanted a khaki! And I also got a blue so I could use it to make canvass art for my Etsy shop. Sadly, neither can has been cracked open yet. Mabye someday soon...
ReplyDeleteFun idea for a paint party!
Sea Glass Green is a gorgeous color! Can't wait to see what you do with the top.
ReplyDeleteI just love Robin's egg green. It is a colour that i unknown in Europe (as a name of course) so I am always looking for the right kind of blueish green that will resemble what I see on your blogs.
ReplyDeleteDo the kids love their chore charts as much as you do ;-)
Oh my goodness that would have been neat if she would have saved some of the skirts for you. I dont think I would wear them to Wal mart but it would be fun to go out with the girls to Round Top in~
ReplyDeleteYour chore charts are so cute! Love the colors your picked. Honestly, I didn't even crack open my can of paint yet. I just looked at it today and thought, hmmmm....really need to do something with that. lol
ReplyDeleteHope your week is going great!
