This couldnt be easier! Just take old magazines you have and wish to part with. Browse through and look for anything red or pink, and then just punch them out! I did not have a punch, so I made a template and cut them out. I mounted them on cardstock for stability. I punched a small hole in each side, and threaded them onto yarn. Didnt cost a thing! But I think it turned out pretty cute.
Pardon the lighting in this picture. This is my hallway, so there isnt any natural light.
I managed to hit a couple sales this morning, found a few good things. Hopefully I'll get to sharing those soon. I hope you have a great weekend!

Very cool !!!!!! What a great idea for those old magazines.
ReplyDeleteYour garland is super cute! Maybe I should use this idea for my daughter's bridal shower...only using the color orange.
ReplyDeleteAww cuteness :)
ReplyDeleteIts also cool that you guys share the same birthday - I commend you both for keeping things simpler for your families *serious nod*
*giggle*
Wendy, that is brilliant! Seriously, what a super idea for reusing old magazines and making something cute in the process. You could make these for any color scheme. I think this would be a great craft to do with your kids because they can help you look for the right color. I don't have a die cut of a heart but I do have a scalloped circle that would make a cute garland too. I LOVE it!!
ReplyDeleteYou were very resourceful to think of using magazine photos for your garland. It is really cute and when you pull it out from year to year, you'll be glad you spent the time making it.
