More Prior Finds

Man, I cant believe it's been a week since I posted! I do have things I want to blog, dont know what happened! I've got a couple finished projects and one I need help with. Plus a few things I found this weekend. But for now, I want to share some things I picked up back in February.

I've long admired all the chandelier makeovers I see around the blogosphere. And now I will finally get to join in! I found this brass "beauty" for $2! She's going to replace a ceiling fan in our hallway and will look much better with a paint job. I think I want a blue/aqua but I can't seem to find a color I like. I saw a gorgeous color in Country Living called Catalina Mist (by Krylon) but apparently it's been discontinued. Does anyone know of another brand with that sort of color?

When I saw this vintage box of Crayola's, I almost didn't ask the price, assuming it would be pricy. But it was only $.50!

It even has its' crayons.

I found this thing at the little antique shop down the road that we like (The Scrounge Around Shop). Not sure what it is, but they had a ton of them and I liked its' shape and milk glass color.

I just can't pass up affordable Pyrex!

I bought this little purse to put in my Etsy shop. I hope to one day soon build my shop a little more!

It's so hard to pass up a good frame. I really want to make one of those photo collage walls one day. I just can't decide where.

I'm not sure I will ever luck out in the vintage Christmas department like some of you, but I seem to be finding little bits & pieces here and there. I found two bundles of old C9 lights. I'm not sure if I wan to try and use them as lights, or just as jar fillers. I haven't tested them to see if they work or not.

I'm linking up once again to Today's Thrifty Treasures over at Southern Hospitality!

  1. Wow...lots of great deals Wendy. Just found your blog thru Rhoda. I too collect frames and use them for a collage on the wall. I refuse to buy frames new because with a coat of spray paint they transform like new. I also have a couple of chandeliers that I spraypainted and are waiting to be hung.

  2. Nice finds. DD2 took down a chandelier similar to that one in her DR. She may paint and rehang in a guest bedroom.

  6. I'm taking a wild guess here, but the white glass looks like a shade for a hanging light. Since the opening is so small, my guess is it went over a chandelier bulb.

  7. Terrific finds!! Can't wait to see the chandelier when your done with it. So frustrating when you finally decide on something only to find out it has been discontinued! Good luck with the paint search. Sweet frame! I have a collage wall. Didn't buy any new frames....gave them a coat of paint and was good to go!
That purse if fab! I imagine it won't be in your shop long.
I too, think it looks like a globe cover of a haning light. I'm always attracted to milkglass.
