Winner, Winner....

A Chicken Dinner update. Well, a Chicken update. It's been awhile since I posted anything about the flock, so I thought it was about time. Especially with all the "action" going on in the coop these days.

The coop was in need of a cleaning. Mike got it cleaned up and added some fresh hay. Here is the herd going to town in it.

Chicken Dinner is still sitting on her eggs(17). We didnt write down what day we started so we arent exactly sure what day these little guys might hatch.

She isnt the only one sitting these days! We found her today. (She doesnt really have a name yet). I cant remember the exact count, but there are either 15 or 17 eggs under there.

And she is also sitting! (no name here either). I cant remember how many she has.

And now we also have this.

We have been getting double-yolk eggs pretty much on a regular basis. Havent seen any monsters like before. Until a few days ago. When we found this:

It's so funny to see such a wide range of eggs from two breeds of chickens. We have been getting these very tiny, blue tinted ones lately. You can see how bumpy the big one looks in the picture above. It's so big that the egg carton doesnt close properly!

I will post a yolk update once we crack this sucker.

I hope you and your family have a great 4th of July!!
