Finally, an Estate Sale!

I NEVER find estate sales here. Sure, there are some listed in the paper, but they really just sound like moving sales. But last week, I noticed a sign for an estate sale at a little house that always has random stuff outside for sale (bikes mostly, but sometimes other things). I REALLY wanted to stop, but with going to Ft. Desoto Saturday, and Ocala Sunday, there wasnt time. So I was pretty happy when I saw in the paper that they were having it this week, too! I stopped, all 3 kids in tow. But it wasnt too bad. The two big ones were distracted by the toy section.



Vintage linens, of course. I love the stripes!

This awesome quilted pillow. It's pretty yellowed though, any good tips on cleaning this? Some of the pointed ends have come loose so I dont want to mess it up.

A chicken scratch apron. I never find aprons.

A vintage Christmas tablecloth. My second this year. It has a few spots, but they arent bad, so hopefully I can get them out.

Pyrex!! The lady who rang up my purchases said she had wanted this Pyrex. I did notice that most of the pieces were out in the front yard where there was only a few things.

This is the largest size mixing bowl, and it was only $1.50!

Now these arent from the estate sale, but a yardsale from awhile back. I just never got around to taking pictures. Some of these are Beistle, including the groovy looking pilgrims & indian. The two brown turkeys on the top left are Beistle, too. The yellow one on the right isnt marked, but it's a honeycomb. Some of these may be Ebay/Etsy bound.

I cant help but wonder what I might have missed last week. Of course, I'm envisioning chenile blankets and boxes of Shiny Brites, but who knows. I probably could have dug a little better this week if I didnt have Morgan attached to my hip. But I think I did pretty good.

Memorial Day at Webster

Down the road a bit, there is a tiny town called Webster. Every Monday, the town grows in size, due to their weekly flea market. We don't go often, since it's only Mondays and we are usually working. But since we were off for Memorial Day, Mike, his parents, Morgan & I decided to head on over. The big kids stayed away from home last night. Blake with a friend and Layla with an aunt!

I'm a sucker for a great frame. And I don't find many good oval ones.

I usually avoid Pyrex, Fire King, etc at these things because they are so expensive. But I found this really cute Glasbake dish for a great price. I love the polka dots!

I have been hoping to find an old window or two, but I never do. I find one today though!

Even Mike found a couple things. Morgan had to check them out.

I was hoping for an egg basket, but didnt find any I wanted. I think we did good though. Now off to enjoy the last bit of my long weekend. Have a good one!

A Few Finds

Yard sale season is in full swing here, but, I havent been to any. I did get one new thing this weekend, though, from the Catholic thrift, and I also had a few things I forgot to share before. Like this Phillips bottle. I found this in the creek at the bottom of my aunt's house in Virginia. It says "Genuine Phillips Made in USA" on the bottom, and also has the letter M and number. I know it can't be super old, as it has threads for a screw on lid. Does anyone have any idea when they quit using glass?

I have seen several thrifters find this old card game, Rook, and always admired the cards themselves. I finally happened to find a deck at the Catholic thrift awhile back!

This is what I found yesterday. An old sewing machine table. My husband hates it. I admit, it doesnt look the best right now. The creamy white paint I do kind of like, it's chippy and has cracks that you just cant recreate with crackle paint. But I am not loving the gold/brown accents, or even the little knob. But I think it would look really nice with a new paint job. And I have an old glass knob I found in the shed here that I could use to replace that pull. What do you think? Do you hate it, too? Be honest, I can take it!

This wont be fun to sand.

It even still has the machine inside! I really dont need the machine though.

Some NEW Finds

Finally, I have a few recent finds to share! I have had such an urge to go thrifting/yard-saling. It seems like when that happens, and I finally go, it always pays off! I found these cute little birds. There was only this one "nest".

And more Pyrex! For $.20, you can't pass it up.

I was needing some more old books for decorating, and just look at these colors! The one about buying country property isnt that old, late 70's, but I liked the title. And I try & make sure I like the title when I'm buying these. They were all $.20 a piece!

I always see these dishes on other people's blogs, and I saw several in the antique shops in Virginia. Now I have two!

I almost coudlnt believe I found this. There is a new thrift shop down the road. They are okay, kind of pricey. Like $4-$5 a t-shirt pricey. But for some reason, this vintage Christmas tablecloth was marked $1.99. I almost couldnt believe it!

Course, there is one flaw. Maybe this explains the price?

And finally, somewhere to hopefully display some of this Pyrex I keep finding. This was a Craigslist find. Obviously it needs some updating! But I think it will look great when we're done with it. Question is... what color? White? Or maybe a soft/apple green? (That glass has already been removed! I'm debating between taking the doors off, or adding chicken wire. What do you think?)
