Opinions Needed

I am slowly trying to update our living room. I can't do a full blown makeover all at once, so I'm taking it step by step. I want to make a collage wall, so I have been collecting some art prints. I have this lovely one from Colorbee, so I put it in a thrifted white frame. But the problem for me was the different whites. The paper is a bluish-white next to the frame. So I decided to repaint it.



So I painted it Aquatic Mist by Valspar. But now I'm not sure. My other option was Granny Smith by Glidden. The Granny Smith color is similar to the lighter green on the E in 'sweet'.

Here you can see it all together. What do you think? Would you leave it aqua or paint it green?

And do you have any suggestions for this shelf in general? I'm not lovin it...

Cats + Kids + Insulators

Equals distaster. I took this picture back in December but had never posted it. I've since added a few more back to my collection, but no aqua ones yet. Oh, and I am getting very close to 200 followers! I'd like to have a giveaway when I hit 200, so if you have a shop & would like to donate something, please get in touch with me! Thanks everyone!

Shabby Shamrocks - Again!

I don't see myself making any St. Patrick's Day crafts at this point. It's a few days away, the kids wear uniforms and they are out of school on spring break anyway. But I'm going to go ahead and repost a project I did last year. Shabby Shamrocks!

They are so easy! This is what I started with. I folded a piece of paper in half, and then in half again, and drew a heart like shape in the corner.

After I cut it out, this is what I had. I also cut out a little stem shape.

I took the piece that I cut out of it (sorry, no pic of it whole, but I'm sure you get the idea!) and seperated it into 4 pieces. I only use 3 for this. Again, no picture of the next step, but I glued these pieces onto another sheet, and cut it out. That way I had one solid pattern. Then I just pinned it on the fabric and cut them out. Two layers of each, and some felt for the back. Then I attached an alligator clip. But you could use a pin as well.

And there you have it! Simple, cute & easy!

Cutest Trike Ever

When I was asked if I would like to review something again for CSN Stores, I knew I wanted to get something for Morgan. She loves playing outside, so my mind was made up when I saw this adorable Radio Flyer Tricycle. As soon as I rolled it out she said "oooh!" and has been playing with it ever since. And while I didn't get any photos of her on it that day, I think a certain 9 year old gives it his seal of approval.

Should I show those pictures to his football team?

Morgan's Rainbow Party!

Be prepared, there are a lot of photos! But I wanted to include the entire party in one post. So here goes.

You can't have a party without invitations. I blogged about them here.

I was completely inspired by the adorable rainbow t-shirt created by Little Bit Funky. I saved it before I even thought about a rainbow party! It's adorable and was so easy.

Here she is wearing it. A colored shirt would probably have been cuter, but she was supposed to wear a tutu, so I wanted it white. She wanted no part of the tutu.

I made the tags for the goody bags using stamps and the striped paper I found at Michaels. I originally wanted different colored goody bags, but when I found these red ones on Valentine's clearance for $.37 a package, I had to go with red.

The goody bags included chalk, pencils, bubbles (also V-day clearance, $.50 a pack), rainbow lollipops, straws & paint chip notepads.

The notepads were easy & FREE!

Now for the decor. There was the rainbow wreath, of course.

And the Fill A Bowl.

Awhile back, I had purchased these crochet face scrubbies on Etsy. I think I was going to put them in the kids stockings, and forgot. So I used them to decorate!

I found these pinwheels at the Dollar Tree.

I found this adorable card at Tiny Prints.

The confetti was found at Michaels on clearance.

Goodies! Of all kinds!

Chocolate coins.

Rainbow Twizzlers.

Pretzel MMs (in vintage Pyrex!).

Gummy worms & bears (more Pyrex!).

Candy dots.

Gumballs.

Colorful Goldfish (again with the Pyrex).

Chocolate covered marshmallow pops.

And chocolate covered Oreos.

To make serving ice cream faster & easier, I pre-scooped it into cupcake liners. I kept them in the freezer until it was time to serve.

The kids LOVED this, rainbow slush!

The cake!! That is the tutu she was supposed to wear. She looked SO cute! But as soon as I got it on her, she started trying to pull it off. So I gave up & put some rainbow shorts on her. I thought it looked great around the cake though.

I was going to make fondant balls to border the cake, but I figured gumballs were a heck of a lot faster. And easier!

This was to be expected, right?

We also had cupcakes. And I forgot a photo, but I filled my drink dispenser with Sprite, and added colorful plastic ice cubes, found at Dollar Tree.

There were no planned activities. All but one of the boys in attendance play football, so they played out in the field. Layla and the few little ones played around the house and everyone seemed happy. Now it's time to plan Layla's party which is next month.
