Spring Break... Day 1

Other than that, today was fairly un-eventful. I worked in the garden a little, trying to get it ready to plant.
I also wanted to say, I'm participating in Gypsy Mermaid Life's Pink & Green Swap. Check it out!
I'm going to try and post each day about what activity we did that day. Hope your Monday was a good one!

Why I Rarely Scrapbook... & Some Free Fun
Looks like any other scrapper, right? Or crafter even? It would be great if when I was done I could just walk away and leave that sitting on the desk... except it's my living room! I never thought we would ever need 5 bedrooms, but now that there are 5 of us in a tiny, 1200+ square foot, 3 bedroom house, 5 rooms would be FANTASTIC! But since that isnt happening, I scrap in the living room. So all this has to be picked up every time I drag it all out. Sometimes it just isnt worth all the trouble.
To my right:
But I'm pretty happy with the end result:
For the weekend fun... this morning we ran to the party store to get supplies for Layla's Luau. I had a coupon for 30% off your purchase that I didnt want to let go to waste. We ended up saving almost $40! But when we stopped at the bank, we noticed that the shopping plaza they just built next door was having a Grand Opening. Funny, because there is only one tenant right now. But they were celebrating anyway. They had a sign that said something about holding a live alligator. So after the party store, we decided to stop by. Layla was all gung-ho until it came down to it. She chickened out, but Blake decided to go ahead.

"New" Goodies
Anyone that lives near a Publix has seen the Thanksgiving commercials with the little Pilgrim salt & pepper shakers. I have the Pilgrims, the "Lilgrims" (kids) and for Christmas, a set of snowmen. I have never seen the Santa & Mrs. Claus though, so we picked these up.
Blake has been playing the Wii at his aunts lately (we dont seem to use ours much!) and has really taken a liking to the golf on Wii Sports. He mentioned the other day wanting to play. So of course, since this sale was in a 55+ community, there were lots of golf clubs & balls. So Blake is now the owner (I'd say proud, but he doesnt know yet) of two golf clubs....
And 23 golf balls. There was 24, but Daddy wanted to give it a try when we got home and lost the neon yellow one in the pond.
The rest of the day has been pretty quiet. Mike is taking a nap. A friend stopped over after work to visit and Layla has been playing pretty good. Now the fun starts, trying to get her to pick up her "fun".
But I thought I would share a few new additions that I hadnt gotten around to sharing. I found this Floraline planter at the thrift store.
Mike's mom got this Pyrex dish from someone she knows, and she passed it along to me.
Mike's dad brought this metal table home from work for me. I guess they had it out by a bench, and when the bench fell apart, they got rid of the table, too.

The Girls' Room
The "bookhouse" with the curtains hung.
The shelf with the handkerchiefs.
And their button monograms all hung up.
I didnt get a picture of the closet with her "curtain" hung, but I'm not in love with it. They only had one shade of pink at Walmart and it's not quite as big as I like. So I guess I'm still watching for something better.

Esty Finds
Also, this time around, I didnt get to decorate a nursey for Morgan, since she is sharing a room with Layla. But I couldnt help trying to think of ways to decorate their room a little more. I was browsing some of my favorite shops on Etsy, and saw this adorable hanky. This one happen to come from Oodles, or Barbara from Oodles and Oodles.
With an L, I knew I would have to find an M. I was hoping to find maybe one in purple, but I found a blue one instead. This one came from This Could Be You.
I have these hanging from a shelf that is above Morgan's crib. I plan on taking some pictures of their room, since obviously the crib is now put together, and some of those unfinished projects are now finished.
Have a great weekend!
